Direct Support Services
Navigating disability systems can be confusing, exhausting, and often isolating. People should not have to fight through red tape just to access the support they rely on, yet that is the experience most families and disabled individuals face. This page exists to provide guidance, clarity, and real help from someone who understands both lived experience and the structure of the system.
Beyond The Box Advocacy offers direct support for individuals and families, as well as consulting for organizations working to improve access, equity, and policy alignment. Whether you are seeking help navigating services or designing change within your institution, these offerings are built to make support more reachable and less conditional.
Support for Individuals and Families
Getting help should not require knowing the right words, office, or law. People sometimes just need a clear path forward and someone who can walk with them through it.
-
Support for understanding what services exist, who qualifies, and how to apply without getting lost in paperwork or agency loops.
-
Help when a person is denied care, dropped from services, or facing barriers that should not be there. This includes guidance on appeals, documentation, language to use with agencies, and knowing your rights while staying protected in the process.
-
One-on-one support for building a plan, exploring options, and identifying what is possible beyond what the system first offers. This is for people who need strategy, clarity, or direction when the path forward is not obvious.
Support for Organizations
Better outcomes for people start with better systems. We work with organizations that want to move beyond surface-level inclusion and address the policies and practices that shape daily experience.
-
Support for identifying where rules, eligibility criteria, or internal procedures are creating barriers, and how to redesign them so support is consistent, fair, and person-centered.
-
Guidance on turning policy goals into daily practice and making sure what is written on paper actually matches what people experience when they seek help.
-
Helping teams understand disability as a design responsibility. This includes tools, frameworks, and support for long-term change instead of one-time training.
How to Work with Beyond The Box Advocacy
The first step is a consultation call. This gives space to understand what support is needed, what barriers are showing up, and what kind of guidance will be most helpful. From there, services are tailored to the person or organization so the support accurately fits the situation.
Pricing is determined individually based on level of support and scope of work. All services begin with a consultation call.
